Throughout 2025, MapAid strengthened its local partnership with Ethiopia’s Ministry of Water & Energy and the Arba Minch University Water Technology Institute. This collaboration centered on two key pillars: a comprehensive field data collection campaign and the iterative, data-driven refinement of our WellMapr™ technology.

Working alongside these efforts, the Czech Geological Survey provided essential geological mapping as part of a fully integrated team approach. We are also deeply grateful to the Frontier Tech Hub – and FCDO funded programme – which provided very useful pilot funding and invaluable mentoring support during the latter half of the year. While technical and logistical challenges remain, the initial results are encouraging and demonstrate significant progress in improving the accuracy of groundwater mapping.
