Background
Rupert began his career as a water and sanitation engineer, working for development and emergency organisations like Christian Aid and the International Committee of the Red Cross and OECD. His experience on a Bosnian mountainside inspired him to found MapAction in 2002, an NGO providing emergency response mapping. In 2003, as a Stanford University Fellow, he founded Global MapAid, a non-profit dedicated to creating maps to defeat poverty. He has led projects in East Africa and post-Katrina USA and has worked for organisations such as UNHCR and DfID. He now brings his extensive experience in crisis management and operational excellence to executive coaching, focusing on productivity and scalability within the AI sector with particular reference to MapAid. He speaks French and is working towards a Level 7 Institute of Leadership and Management qualification.
He was asked to lead the financial rescue missions for two financial accounting systems at two country offices, receiving multimillion ££’s of ECHO, DfID, and private equity funds, in Ethiopia and East Congo. He has direct line responsibility was for £2.25 million per year, running x40 village water projects and x3 town water projects in Bosnia, that ran over 3 years.
