In the wake of the earthquake in 2005, GMA volunteers travelled to Pakistan to make maps for PODA, an indigenous not-for-profit, to guide donors and other visitors to their projects including a refugee camp.
In 2009, Global MapAid embarked on a mission to Zimbabwe to assess the potential of mapping school and hospital facilities.
When Hurricane Katrina devastated Greater New Orleans on 29 August 2005, Global MapAid initiated rapid deployment. Our mission was to collect data and produce maps showing victims where they could find aid.
